What is ALL ABOARD?
ALL ABOARD is the annual fund of the non profit Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, a support organization for the worldclass Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. ALL ABOARD consists of contributions from individuals, corporations, railroad associations, civic groups, small businesses and many others.
Your donation to ALL ABOARD will help support important activities, such as the restoration of a locomotive like the “Lindbergh Engine,” the education of today’s youth through the Museum’s innovative programs or the conservation of important historical artifacts, all related to railroading, the industry that built our nation.
How could my gift to ALL ABOARD go to work?
There are lots of examples, at all funding levels:
• $3 - $10 million: To help construct a roundhouse or to help construct a collections research/storage facility.
• $500,000 - $1 million: To help restore the Pennsylvania Railroad GG1 No. 4800 or to enhance the Friends of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s Endowment Fund for the future.
• $100,000 - $500,000: To help restore the Reading Company Crusader dining car or to underwrite staff positions at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
• $25,000 - $100,000: To help conserve the Pennsylvania Railroad Presidents' portraits or to help establish a small theatre in the Museum.
• $10,000: To help provide internet access to the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s collections.
• $5,000: To help mount an important exhibit of railroad history.
• $1,000: To further develop an oral history project to preserve the stories of railroaders.
• $500: To sponsor five needy children in the Barons & Builders summer day camp.
• $100: To purchase crucial educational and teaching materials.
Why do you need funds from ALL ABOARD?
Only about 50% of the annual budget of the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania comes from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The remaining admissions, memberships, grants and other monies do not adequately cover the everincreasing costs of operating the Museum, preserving its premier collection and interpreting the history of railroading for the public.
Your gift to ALL ABOARD is critical to, and greatly enhances, significant Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania restoration, education, archival and interpretive programs.
How much is needed for ALL ABOARD?
Many large and small gifts are needed to accomplish the ongoing objectives of caring for the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania’s treasures and preserving and relating the stories of railroading men and women.
A new campaign is held each year; your gift is appreciated at any time.
Your
contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
