John Bull on route to 1893 Columbian Exposition
The locomotive left its retirement home at the Smithsonian for eight months,
decades after its retirement from active service. It made the trip from the east coast
to Chicago without mechanical incident, attracting much attention along the way.
After the Exposition, it ran under its own power to Washington, DC.
