Most of our locomotives have unique histories. When you visit, you will learn which of the locomotives above:
Is called the Lindbergh Engine because of its famous race against a plane.
Actually operated on the Strasburg Railroad.
Is the oldest locomotive in our collection.
Is the official steam locomotive of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Is a replica of the first commercial steam locomotive in America, and is closer to the appearance of the original than the original is today.
And yes, we slipped in a caboose just to see if you were paying attention! We have historic passenger and freight cars and fascinating other rolling stock on display.
