Volunteer of the Year
Each year,
the Friends of the Railroad Museum
and Museum Management
select a member as Volunteer of the Year. This individual is also honored by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
Ralph Lockard began volunteering at the Museum in 1998, and has lent his time and efforts to both the visitor services and the library and archives departments, among others. In visitor services, Ralph would often open the outdoor restoration yard and greet visitors exploring this area of the Museum.
Ralph and his wife Betty also volunteered at many of the special events the Museum has hosted, assisting in the set up and activities of the day. Ralph is a constant presence at the Museum, and can be seen multiple times during the week. Most recently, Ralph has concentrated on special projects in the library and archives.
