Rail Traffic Control

Exhibit through December 2011.

Rail Traffic Control.

Engineers and conductors may move the trains, but it takes an army behind the scenes to run a railroad. From solitary signals to centralized traffic control centers, this exhibition illustrates the history of railroad technical operations through photographs, artifacts and video from the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania's rich collections. A simulated rail traffic operation rounds out the fascinating story of railroad communication.

The exhibit is free to museum visitors upon payment of normal admission fee. See the full exhibit catalog here.
