Hogwarts Express Party.
The Museum will begin registering children on June 2 for special Hogwarts Express Parties that will take place at the Museum. Print out the program leaflet for more information and registration.

Children are encouraged to dress like their favorite Harry Potter character (optional) as they thrill to a reading from one of the J. K. Rowling new classic novels in the Railroad Museum’s historic P70 coach.  Kids also will enjoy nibbling on an especially horrible snack and making a take-home craft following the reading.  Hogwarts Express Party activities are recommended for children ages 8 to 13, but children and adults of all ages who enjoy Harry Potter are welcome to participate. 

Advance registration, along with a $5.00 per child fee, is required for the limited number of places available in the Hogwarts Express Party.  Children must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.  See the registration sheet for information on times. Registration is NOT required for general participation in the other Family Day events.

Operation Lifesaver. Learn all about railroad safety and how to avoid accidents around railroads. Industry sponsored program. Exhibits, handouts.

Railroad Family Day also will feature many activities, especially suited for pre-school to middle school age children and their families.  Museum visitors will enjoy the fascinating, world-class collection of more than 100 historic locomotives and railroad cars, the outdoor Restoration Yard—conditions permitting—Stewart Junction interactive railway education center, Steinman Station early 20th century replica passenger depot, the hands-on freight engine cab simulator, a railroad bridges gallery exhibit and the Whistle Stop Shop museum store.  Most Railroad Family Day activities are included in the regular Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania admission prices.
